Explaining complex compositions in an entertaining manner – this is how music teacher and percussionist Klaus Brettschneider excites audiences of all ages.
Klaus Brettschneider began his musical career as singer in the famous Tölzer Knabenchor. He performed as soloist amongst others in the Monteverdi Operas under the direction of Nikolaus Harnoncourt or in Wagner’s Tannhäuser at the Bayreuth Festival unter Sir Colin Davis. Following his percussion studies at the Münchner Konservatorium and a Masterclass with Peter Sadlo, he spent some time at the Theater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich as with the Robert-Schumann Philharmonie in Chemnitz. Since 1995, percussionist Klaus Brettschneider has been employed by the Orchestre Philharmonic du Luxembourg. Additionally, he is also one of the founding members of OPL’s Education Department “login:music” and was actively involved in the realization of music education productions until the end of the 2012/2013 season. In addition to the creation of school and family-orientated concerts, he produces workshops, offers vocational training and designs musical education concepts for adults.
